Governance and Rules

Medway & Maidstone AC is a registered charity and is subject to regulations laid down by the Charity Commission. We are affiliated to Kent County Athletic Association, South East Athletic Association, England Athletics and UK Athletics, the sport’s national governing body.

The Club is managed by a Management Committee elected at the Annual General Meeting each April.

Medway & Maidstone Athletic Club is a competitive athletic club. As a member it is expected that where possible and if selected you will support the Club in league competion and to be available for matches throughout the season. We are in the Southern Athletic League (SAL); for U17s upwards. We are in the Youth Development League (YDL); for U17s and U20s. The Kent Yourth Athletic League (KYAL); for U13s and U15s. We also participate in the Southern Counties Veterans Athletics League. In the Winter we compete in the Kent Athletic XC League and the Kent, Southern and National XC Championships. We enter teams into the Southern Road Relays Championships.

Volunteers are always welcome. All those who run the Club, Coach, Officiate, Team Managers etc are all unpaid volunteers. Without volunteers, the Club could not survive. So if you are enjoying your time with the Club, why not give something back – your time. Please contact us.

All parents will be expected to assist from time to time, either at training sessions but more importantly at competitions. Senior athletes should also make themselves available to assist at competitions either before or after their event.
