The Dartford half-marathon was one of the very last road races to be held before the ban on mass events. This year the race was more important as it was not only part of the Kent Road Race Grand Prix Series, but also the Kent Long Course Road Championships.
Medway & Maidstone AC only had two runners on this occasion due to many athletes intending to run other races. Considering the hilly, twisty course and winds, Mark Wilkins had a superb run, finishing 3rd overall and 2nd in the County Champs in a very good time of 1.15.05. Alun Rodgers finished 42nd overall, and 7th in the County Champs M50 category in 1.31.02. The race had 699 finishers.
The club had more success in the Lydd 20, were they took Team Gold. The team was led by Tom Collins who won the race in 1.59.16. The winning team was completed by Daniel St Martin in 9th (2.09.15) and Neill Wright in 14th and 3rd M40 (2.11.25). Jemma Whyman knocked almost 8 minutes off her PB finishing 4th overall female and 1st W35 in a time of 2.20.42. The race had 756 finishers.
Also at Lydd, but in the half marathon Daniel Longhurst was 10th out of 383 finishers, with a good time of 83.34.
