For the final race of the season in the Kent Fitness Cross-country league, Medway & Maidstone AC five runners out of a total of 329 finishers.
For this Sunday morning race it was a bitterly cold and there was a fierce wind – all runners being glad to finish and get warm again. The race was won by Gregory Hills of Dartford Harriers who was also the overall male league winner for the season. Dartford Harriers won the men’s league team prize and the combined team prize. The first female runner on the day was Renata McDonnell from Deal Tri Club who was also won the overall female league winner for the season. The winner of the female team prize went to Petts Wood Runners.
Alun Rodgers (M50) was the first runner home for M&M in 39th place, which was his best placing since the 2010/2011 season. Alun also claimed a creditable 9th overall M50 position for the season. He was followed by Ivan Whitmore (M65) in 197th, Steve Russell 249th and Nigel Read 279th. Kat Ford was the only women runner finishing in 280th (75th women).
