With top flight competition already assured beforehand, M &M AC veterans clung on for fifth place in the final match of the season and fourth place overall in the league.
Mark Rothery (M40) placed 2nd in the M35 A 100m in 12.5 with Scott Craddock back from injury winning the B string in 12.6.
The 800m saw Nigel Rumsey achieve a veterans PB of 2:08 to finish 4th in a very fast race M35 A race with Mark Wilkins (2:17.7) placing 4th in the B event.
Bob Fursey (2.35.4) (M50) and Steve Hesketh (2:48.9 (M65) gained valuable points in the M50 and M60 800 m races respectively, with Neill Wright (2.22.9), Darren Wright (2.32.1) and Alun Rodgers (2.36.3) all with PB’s in the non-scoring event.
A very closely contested M60 long jump saw Rob Sibley finish 4th with a jump of 3.64 metres with Marco Ronchetti (4.12) 5th in the M35 long jump. Martyn Corbishley gained essential points in the M50 long jump (4.05 m) and the M50 100m (14.1).
Stuart Earl (M45)and newcomer Will Burling (M60) gained 4th and 5th in the M35 discus (23.59m) and M50 event (22.05m) respectively.
The 4 x 200m quartet of Alex Beech , Mark Rothery, Scott Craddock and Nigel Rumsey were involved in a very exciting fight to the finish with Dartford and were just piped into 2nd place with a time of 1 min 42.7.
