On the same day Tom Bosworth broke the world record for Race Walking a mile in 5 minutes 31 seconds, Medway & Maidstone athletes Katie Stringer, U13, and Jack Childs, U15, represented English Race Walking in Tullamore, Southern Ireland. Jack competed against 6 Irish Athletes easily taking 1st place with a time of 10.25.1 whilst Katie battled a tough field finishing 2nd place with a PB 11.08.6. England were the overall winners of the Nihill Shield.
