AGM/Winter Presentation evening – Friday 17th April 2026

Thank you to all those that attended our AGM/Presentation evening on Friday 17th April. It was a lovely evening and appreciated you giving up a few hours of your time to celebrate some of our amazing athletes and their performances throughout the Winter. Thanks was given to all our fantastic officials, coaches, volunteers and parents. Thank you Bimpe for the lovely buffet spread and to the Kings Rochester Sports Centre. For those new to the Club, a history of how we became Medway and Maidstone AC after a merger between Medway AC and GEC Avionics. I also shared how our ‘homes’ of Medway Park and Sutton Valence came to be.

This year the Jeremy Willson Trophy was awarded to Justin Lane after a fantastic season collecting medals along the way and to his years of Club dedication. In Justin’s words:

“I was humbled to receive the Jeremy Willson Trophy for long term service to the club and a strong winter season. What made it especially meaningful was the name on the trophy. Jeremy was someone I grew up with, trained with, and was lucky enough to call a friend. If not familiar with Jeremy’s legacy I’d encourage you to take a look through the website below.
https://www.jwct.org.uk/about-jeremy.html. Thankful to the club, the people, and the journey”.

Acknowledgement was given of Freddie Gibson’s fantastic English School’s win in March. A great title to have.

Tewelde Menges running 2hr09min58sec at the Valencia Marathon in December, followed by 1:01.16 at the Barcelona Half-Marathon in February. Currently preparing for the London Marathon deserved our recognition

Congratulations to all our deserving award winners. Please see below. If you were unable to make it and you would like your trophy/medal, please speak with Jeannette and we can arrange to get this to you.

The awards were kindly awarded by Sean Rodwell, the new Kent President.
