April Road Round Up!

Lots of activity on the road during April.

The Brighton Marathon took place on Sunday 6th April 2025. Sean Barwick finished in 11th and achieving a new PB of 02:42:31. A week later also taking part in the European Half Marathon Championships in Belgium with another new PB of 74:16.

At the Canterbury Riverside 10k on 13th April, Emily Hale was first female and beat the female course record to finish in 40:13.

On Good Friday (18th April), a number of M&M athletes took part in the Folkestone 10 mile. Richard Tomlinson finished in 61:21 (M55 club record), followed by Jason Simmonds 61:50 (1st M50), Scott Lynch 63:42, Joshua Nice 66:26 (PB), Paul McAuliffe 72:02 (1st M65), Adrian Moody 72:56, Taryne Fursey 73:49, Bob Fursey 74:00, Vanessa Vander 76:37 (PB), Jeremy Sharman 81:13 and Jill Young 93:27.

On Sunday 27th April both London and Manchester marathons took place. Ben Tyler was our first runner home in the London Marathon with a fantastic time of time of 02:25:34 (PB), To follow were Daniel St Martin in 02:44:03 (PB), a strong run by Emily Hale 03:02:04 (PB), Ewan Parkinson 03:34:57 (debut), Karen Cudmore 03:47:35, Dean Parkinson 03:56:09 (debut) and Jeremy Woolley 03:59:53 (M70 club record). The Manchester Marathon saw Sophie Barnes with a time of 3:58:11 (PB).
Well done to all of them, achieving great results in very hot conditions across both marathon locations.
