This was the third match of the Kent Cross Country league taking place at Danson Park, Bexley on Saturday 9th November. A perfect day with the weather a little cool but still and dry for good racing conditions. With the senior women missing this one it was left to the senior men and junior athletes.
The U13 girls started the day and welcomed newcomer, Mollie Hall. With team placings from Amie Barr (23rd), Mollie Hall (27th) and Poppy Talyor (34th). The team currently are in 5th place with one match to go.
The U13 boys saw Noah Gear continue his fine form finishing in 10th position, followed by Ethan Lyons 18th (after 2 races in 2 days!) and Bobby Bilham (30th). Strong runs by team members Jack Gregory (36th) Sebastian Smit 64th, Cameron Drake 65th and Mason Ryder 69th. The team are currently in 3rd position.
U15 Freddie Gibson had another outstanding race and was a clear winner. He was followed in by an in form Louie Gear (4th) and Connor Cousins (34th) completing the 3 to score. Close behind was Daniel Kershaw (35th), newcomer, Junior Adeleye (54th) Logan Smith (57th) and Cameron Davies (64th). The team are currently in 3rd.
The U15 girls team saw Rosa Truong racing well again and first in for the team in 9th. Matilda Moisan 31st, Ava Graham 34th, Ava Malone 39th, Amelia Read 44th and Haven Fesshaie 48th. The team currently in 5th place.
The U17 men were led in by Henry Gibson in 5th, Theo Ronchetti 9th and Declan Tighe in 22nd. The team finished 3rd on the day but currrently in 5th with a match to go.
Two U20s raced with a strong race from Franklin Shepherd for 2nd place and Dominic Wright in 8th.
Another great display of running in the U17s and U20s ladies’ squad. U17 Rose Crossley running consistently well and first in for the team in 4th followed by another strong race from Naveen Deo in 6th and Iris Crossley in 9th. There were also competive runs from Heidi Hughes 13th and Emma Clayton 14th. With this strong form, leaving the team in 1st position.
Similar form from the U20 women saw another great run from Ella Webb 2nd, followed by an improving Lola Sutton 3rd and Abigail Royden 5th for team places. Also moving up the placings saw Abi Hawkes in 9th. The team are currently in 1st position. However this may change with 3 of the team competing in Liverpool for the final race of the season.
The Senior Men saw the 4 and 12 to score teams improving placings from the previous match, placing 2nd for both on the day with the final race for senior teams taking place in February. Jamie Walsh 8th, Ben Tyler 10th, Anthony Webb 13th (1st Vet 40), Alex Donnelly (21st), Dan St Martin (24th), Jacques Cunningham Marsh (26th), Tom Collins 29th, Alex Barber (55th), Neill Wright 64th, Darren Wright 71st, Alun Rodgers 84th, Adam Featherstone 103rd, Clive Woolven 152nd, Jerome Moisan (163rd), Noel Sutton (171st), Bob Fursey (214th).
Well done to our athletes and thank you to our volunteers on the day, Nigel Read and Andrew Paternoster but to all the officials and helpers across the league and clubs.
The next race and final race for the juniors takes place on Saturday 23rd November at Swanley Park.
