Kent County Cross Country Championships – Saturday 4th January 2025

M&M athletes across the age groups competed at the Kent County Cross Country Championships, Brands Hatch on Saturday 4th January. The conditions were cold but clear and dry with little wind which helped towards some great competitive races across the day.

Due to illness the U13 girls saw only two M&M athletes line up. A strong race from first year athlete, Aimee Barr, finishing in 18th. Mollie Hall finishing in 38th.

In the U13 boys race there were only 5 points separating 3rd and M&M’s 5th team placing. Led in by Noah Gear (14th), Jack Gregory (25th), Bobby Bilham (28th), Ethan Miles (40th), Sam Smith (42nd) and Cameron Drake (45th).

The U15 Girls saw Rosa Truong lead the girls in with her strongest race to date finishing in 6th place. Ava Malone (29th), Ava Graham (30th) and Amelia Reed (34th). The team finishing in 6th place.

In the U15 Boys, Freddie Gear was a clear winner. Louie Gear also placing for a well deserved bronze medal. Team mates Daniel Kershaw 32nd and Cameron David 52nd saw the boys taking the bronze team medals.

The U17 Men’s results were Theo Ronchetti (20th), Declan Tighe (22nd) and Sam Fowler (33rd).

The U17 Women saw a strong team effort winning gold. Rose Crossley (4th), Naveen Deo (5th), Emma Clayton (6th), Amber Matthews (7th), Iris Crossley (10th) Heidi Hughes (12th) and Sofia Cudmore-Smith (14th).

The U20 Women with equally strong runs across the age groups taking silver. Led in by Lily Crossley (4th), Lola Sutton (5th), Ella Webb (6th), Abigail Royden (8th) and Annabel Young (12th)

In the U20 Men there was a well deserved silver medal for Franklin Shepherd. Dominic Wright finishing in 27th.

The Senior Women were led in by Charlotte Young, pulling away mid race from the 4th placed athlete, to take a well deserved 3rd. Emily Hale also back to good form in 11th. Karen Cudmore finishing in 35th with the 3 to score team finishing 5th. Taryne McPherson (39th) Jenny Fowler (49th) and Vanessa Vander (59th) completing the 6 to score for a creditable 4th place. Jill Young (85th).

The Senior Men secured strong team results. The 6 to score team finishing in 2nd place. Jamie Walsh 11th, Ben Tyler 18th, Anthony Webb 19th, Dan St.Martin 28th, Jacques Cunningham-Marsh 33rd and Alex Donnelly 35th. Justin Lane 45th, Tom Collins 52th, Luke Stringer 56th, Neill Wright 76th, Harry Collins 86th and Clive Woolven 120th completing the 12 to score for 3rd place. Bob Fursey finishing in 145th position.

Well done to all our athletes. However a massive thank you to those that volunteered to help ensure this event was able to go ahead.
