On Saturday 21st September athletes across the age groups travelled to Aldershot for the SEAA Road Relay Championships at Rushmore Arena. The U13 boys started the day with having to face the heavy morning downpour. Jack Gregory (11.58), Ethan Miles (12.38) and Cameron Drake (13.51) ran well to achieve 40th place.
With an incomplete team for the U17 girls but still deciding to race, Heidi Hughes (19.27) and Emma Clayton (20.53) both ran well.
Sadly our U20/Seniors were also one short needing 4 in a team though all running strong legs. Abigail Royden (22.54), Ella Webb (22.51) and Lola Sutton (23.04). It was ashame not to have a complete team to achieve national selection as after the 3rd leg, were in a strong 14th place.
U15 Freddie Gibson (9.24) got a flying start coming through in 2nd position to hand over to 1st year U15, Daniel Kershaw. Connor Cousins (11.08) finishing for the team in 29th place. The U17 Men were led out by Alfred Moisan (16.31) handing over to Theo Ronchetti (15.48) followed by Henry Gibson (15.23) all running strong for 38th position.
The Senior Men/U20 were led out by U20 Franklin Shepherd (19.16) recording the fastest leg of the team of six comprising Dan St Martin (20.11), Jamie Walsh (20.06), Sean Barwick (20.16), Jacques Cunningham-Marsh (21.08) and Tim Collins (20.29) finishing well in 47th out of 103 teams. Our Masters Men 40 team finished a fantastic 6th position. A great start from Anthony Webb (19.55) saw him handing over to Justin Lane (20.32) followed by Neill Wright (21.50) and Darren Wright (22.46). Well done all.
