Our last Open Meeting of the Summer took place on 1st September and included the Chris Newman Club 1500m handicap race in memory of the M&M coach.
This year saw an exciting finish as Darren Wright timed his last 300m to perfection as he passed an equally impressive effort from Emily Hale just before the finish line. A strong effort by all athletes in memory of a great coach.
The Open meeting saw some fantastic results by Club members. The 400m being a highlight as Dylan Purton achieved a Club record recording a PB of 47.93 and a top 10 U20 ranking. Omaro Thomas also ending the season with a 100m PB in 10.77s.
The Open also hosted the BMC 800m races with 8 in total bringing the season to an end for many of these athletes and a well deserved rest before getting back to Winter training.
