The first KYAL of the season took place on Sunday 5 May at Norman Park, Bromley. With the Club last year being promoted to Division 1, it was fantastic to see our U13 and U15 boys and girls finish second overall on the day. There were some great results, particularly, for those new to competition but an alround great effort by all.
The U13 boys finished top of the league with wins for Rudi Charles in the A Shot (7.12) and Javelin (25.64) and wins for newcomer Gad Adekunie in the B Shot (6.71m) and Discus (14.08) and Oscar Giles in the B Javelin (20m) with a 14.27m Discus for 3rd A.
The U15 boys finished 3rd. Bukunmi Edun winning the A Long Jump (5.05m) and Will Connop with a win in the A Javelin 40.05m and brother Tom leading the B in 34.19m.
Last year saw the U13 girls struggling to field half a team so was lovely to see them finish 4th with most events covered. Joyce Akindeji with wins in the 75m hurdles (12.50s) and Long Jump (4.18m). Paige Becconsall winner the B 75m hurdles (15.70). The 4×100 team of |Igwe, Obamakinwa, Akindeji and Routley finished 2nd.
The U15 girls finished 3rd. With newcomer, Amiyah Spencer, storming to the win in the 100m (12.35). Equally as strong on the field, Tilly Ryan taking first place in the Hammer (40.09) and 1st B Javelin (23.02). Mia Blaber (26.79). The 4×100 team of Spencer, Blaber, Yemi-Sofumade and Oahimi taking the win.
Well don to all the team.
Thank you to our new team managers and officials that helped on the day.
