Last weekend saw the first in a series of indoor meetings at Lee Valley this winter. First up was the South of England championships for the under 17 and under 15 age groups. M&M athletes performed well and all recorded new personal bests in their events.
In the under 15 age group, Daniel Hardy placed 5th in the 60m hurdles final setting a new pb of 9.16 seconds while in the girls equivalent, Emily Moyle set a new pb of 10.10 seconds as she made the semi-finals. Competing as a first year in the age group, Emily returned to the track on the Sunday and set a another new personal best of 28.88 seconds in the heats of the 200m.
In his first year in the under 17 age group, Dylan Purton set a new pb of 23.73, dipping under 24 seconds for the first time to make the semi-finals of the 200m while in the 400m heats, Finn Rodgers recorded a new pb of 55.02.
Focus now switches to the under 20 and senior age groups with next weekends London Games where a number of M&M athletes will be competing.”
