South East Inter-counties & Masters Championship, Horspath, Oxford – Saturday 7th December 2019

Several M&M athletes were selected for Kent to race at the South East  Inter Counties Championships in Horspath, Oxford, on Saturday 7th December. Racing the best county athletes in the South East of England on a challenging and muddy course. 

In the U13 Boys, Jay Trimmer, in his first selection for Kent at this level, finished in 71st.

The U15s saw Hayden Gear in 47th. The conditions saw Hayden take a heavy fall but still getting up and finishing but therefore missing out on the chance of a possible silver team medal. 

In the U17s, Ethan Gear finished well in 37th with Luke Stringer 67th.

In the U15s girls, Anna Palmer had a fantastic run finishing 8th and possible would have pushed for a medal if not for falling in the muddier section of the course. Nevertheless, helping the team to winning a bronze team medal. Abigail Royden also finishing in 68th place. 

In the U17s, Charlotte Young finished 37th. 

Emily Hale, with her first team selection at senior level, finished in 45th.

The South Eastern Masters Championship also taking place at the same venue had 3 M&M male M50 competitors. Barry Royden running strongly winning silver in his age group. Team mates, Alun Rodgers in 9th and Gareth Williams 13th which saw the team just missing the bronze team medal.
