The ESAA 2019 Track & Field Championship took place in Birmingham, 12-14th July. It can be described as the young athletes’ Olympics and to be selected to represent your county is an amazing achievement and honour.
Medway & Maidstone had a number of athletes competing across the age groups with some fantastic results. Medals went to Mayong Tabe with a silver in the Senior Girls Long Jump in 5.86m, in the Intermediate Girls, Zara Obamakinwa silver in the Discus 38.11m and in the Junior Girls, Gypsy Nash also a silver in the Hammer 50.32m.
Conor Murphy just missed out on a medal in the Senior Boys 400m for 4th place in 49.77s. Josh Oshunrinde also made the final of the 100m finishing 7th in 10.94s. Ashleigh West finished 9th in the Senior Girls High Jump in 1.58m and Hamish Reilly finished 13th in the Intermediate Boys 3000m in 9.03.03.
