Several Medway & Maidstone athletes competed in the BUCS (British University Championships) on 4th and 5th May.
Darcey Kuypers after winning her semi-final on Saturday, dipped under 12 seconds for the first time and then finished second in the final in a big new PB of 11.78s. Also in the 100m, Ellie Turner was third in her semi final, just missing out a place in the final with 12.19s. Joe Burton ran well in his 400m semi-final in 50.86s.
On the Sunday, Darcey also made the 200m final after running a wind assisted 24.23s PB in the semis and finishing 4th in the final in 24.31s. Lucy Hope also ran 26.04s PB to finish 3rd in her heat just missing out reaching the semis.
Emily Hale competed in the 1500m running a time of 5.59.88.
