Medway & Maidstone AC continued their success on the road at the Headcorn half-marathon. The race was won by Victoria Park athlete Sam Hamphrey in a new course record of 1.11.37. Tonbridge AC runner Sean Molloy was 2nd, followed by Niall Stewart of Kent AC. Medway & Maidstone’s Harry Collins was 4th with a good 2 minute PB in 1.14.30. He was closely followed by Richard Tomlinson in 6th overall and 1st M50 and Daniel St Martin, with another 2 minute PB (1.21.46) in 8th. In the women’s race, Jemma Whyman had an outstanding run to take silver in 1.29.23 behind unattached Tanya Cornish. Antel Muller also had a great race taking 4th place and knocking almost 4 minutes off her PB. More success followed with Taryne McPherson in 6th overall and 3rd W35.
The club’s great results were rewarded with them winning a new TOP Team Trophy for a mixed team which must include one female and one master.
