The Dartford ½ Marathon, which incorporated the Kent County Long Course Championships this year, was run at the weekend. The winner in a time of 1.12.26 was Sam Proctor from Dartford Road Runners, followed by Peter Tucker (Blackheath & Bromley AC) in 1.14.01 and Bradley Cameron of Thanet Road Runners in 1.15.15. Medway & Maidstone runner Lee McMeekin took the 1st Masters (M40) County medal and was 6th overall in 1.17.52. This now means Lee is in 1st place both overall and in the M40 Masters categories in the Kent Grand Prix Road Race Series. Justin Lane also from the M & M had a great run in his first ½ marathon to take 15th place in a time of 1.21.51 and the 3rd Masters (M40) County medal.
Mark Wilkins was the only club runner from the club at the Lydd ½ Marathon with a great run to take 2nd place in a time of 1.14.11, only 7 seconds of his PB and his fastest for 4 years. Neil Renault, ex M & M runner, now running for Edinburgh AC, won the race in 1.13.21. Joel Wiles of Epsom was in 3rd in 1.15.15.
