North Downs 30km – Sunday 30th June 2019

The North Downs 30 km run is one of the toughest races in the South of England. The run is multi-terrain, run on tracks and lanes. The numerous hills make this race very challenging and with the weather this year being very hot it was great to see the club with some excellent finishing positions and PBs.

The race was won by host club runner Ed Bovingdon of Istead and Ifield Harriers (1.59.40).  He was followed in second and third places by M & M runners Tom Collins (2.02.36) and Chris Rampling (2.02.51). Lee McMeekin (M45) was 14th (2.16.47), Alun Rodgers (M50) 43rd (2.30.33 and 5 minute PB), Sean Rodwell 93rd (2.39.51, with a remarkable PB of over an hour!) and Bob Fursey (M55) in 143rd (2.49.46).

The club had 2 women runners, Claire Wilkins (F35) 49th female and 17th F35 (3.09.54) and Mo Fazakerley (F55) 73rd female and 6th F55 (3.23.03).
