Several Medway & Maidstone athletes contested the U20s & U23s England Athletics Championships and European Trials at Bedford over the weekend. Cameron Corbishley took a silver medal in the 10000mW and will now be representing GB over the 20kW in the European Athletics Championships in Sweden next month.
There were no other top 3 medals for our athletes but nevertheless some great results.
Darcey Kuypers finished 5th in the 200m U23s final (24.32s) and Mayong Tabe also 5th in the U20W Long Jump final (6.05m). Conor Murphy made his first championship U20 final finishing 8th (49.09) in the 400m with Adam Thompson running 49.90s in his heat of the U23s 400m. Joshua Oshurinde ran 10.99s for 5th in the U20M 100m semi-final and Ellie Turner 25.15s in her heat but did not take to the start line for the semi-final.
