KCAA request

KCAA is the key provider of competition within Kent but events can only take place if there is an appropriate support structure in place.

All clubs affiliated to the County are being asked to consult with their memberships to see if volunteers can be found to fill the following vacancies which are anticipated to arise in the coming months:

* Honorary Secretary (one of the Officers to work with the Chairman and Treasurer)

* Member of the Executive Committee (probably 4-5 Meetings per annum – usually finished by 9.00pm!)

* Members of the Team Management and Team Selection Sub-Committee

* Members of the Cross-Country Sub-Committee (there are seven events October – February plus a couple of Sub-Committee Meetings held at Dartford Harriers Clubhouse)

* Member of the Track & Field Sub-Committee (up to six Sub-Committee Meetings per annum)

* A dedicated person to coordinate the endurance officials once availabilities have come in for the leagues and Championships.

There are quite a few opportunities but, unless most of these positions are filled, there will be an adverse effect on competition in Kent. If only each affiliated club could provide just one additional person, there would be no problems!

There is no need to delay until the autumn to discuss these positions – please act now. If anyone expresses an interest, please forward their contact details either to the KCAA Chairman, David Ralph, at chairman@kcaa.org.uk or to Alan Bennett at secretary@kcaa.org.uk or secretary.kcaa@hotmail.co.uk?

We look forward to hearing from you………. please!
