After competing at the South East Schools Championships the day before, Ben Hughes of Medway & Maidstone AC had an amazing run in the Ashford & District 10km, winning the race in an excellent time of 33.07. Hughes, who only turned 16 last week, has only run two 10Km races previously and this time he knocked over 3 minutes off his previous best. The race had 567 finishers. Ed Bovington of Istead & Ifield Harriers came in a close 2nd, also with a PB (33.11), followed in 3rd by Robert Latala from Ashford & District RRC (33.13). Neill Wright of M&M had his best 10Km race to date, finishing in 16th place (5th M40) knocking over a minute of his previous best for the distance. Bob Fursey (M55) also had a good running finishing in 57th place in 42.59.
